Bavaria Babes arrested in South Africa!

June 16, 2010

Football has become big business. Why else would we play with this horrible beach ball? Wasn’t the ball we had 4 years back good enough? Or 8 years back? Etc etc. And did you pick up the fact that only Nike supported players complained about the ball? None of the Adidas dudes did?

So, when Bavaria – competitor to big sponsor Heineken – decided to come out with a nice guerilla event – the short orange dress for bombshells – the FIFA did what every hot blooded guy would do: they arrested the Bavaria Babes. I’m not kiddin’!

The gals were taken to the police station for questioning! For hours! FIFA calls it a marketing trap. And the interesting thing is, it doesn’t say “Bavaria” on the dress, anywhere!

Barbara Kastein, one of the 36 babes: “We were in the stadium, having fun. Singing and we were being photographed. And then in the second half, this FIFA dude came up to us and said we weren’t allowed to wear the Bavaria dresses in the stadium. He gave us a choice: go voluntarily or else the police would be ordered to arrest us.’

“I told the guy that they couldn’t do that on the basis of our dresses but 40 stewards surrounded us and pushed us and pulled us off the stands. One of the girls fell of the stairs, even!”.

Some of the girls were questioned for hours and all the passports were taken. “One offices told us that we could be charged and jailed for six months! For wearing an orange dress!”.

Bavaria CEO Peer Swinkels thinks the FIFA acted insanely. “Those are cute dresses and don’t carry a brand name. People can wear Ralph Lauren clothes without a problem but our dress is banned? Where does it say that the FIFA can control what people wear?”
