THREE-DAY SEMINAR "HOW TO START AND REGISTER YOUR OWN BUSINESS AND CREATE A BUSINESS PLAN"

SARAJEVO, March 11, 2010

Today, the second day of a three-day seminar titled "How to start and register your own business and create a business plan", lecturer, doctor of economic sciences Almir Peštek, assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo and the deputy director of the Institute of Economics Sarajevo, will talk about the importance of work planning, the elements of marketing, the management of production, placing products on the market and on the funding sources and taxes.

The seminar is taking place in Sarajevo in the premises of the Center for support of business, and is designed for young unemployed people and those who have ideas for starting their own business.

The seminar was organized in cooperation with the OSCE Mission in BiH -Sarajevo Office, Business Center at the Center Municipality and Employment Agency of the Sarajevo Canton (SK).

YEP at the Training Firm Fair

Kultur Kontakt Austria will organize International Training Firm Fair Sarajevo 2010, as a part of ECO – NET Project funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC). The fair will be opened on March 17th 2010 in hotel Hollywood, Ilidža and will end on March 18th 2010.

The aim of this project is to support young people in the region in improving their success in the labour market.
The participants/visitors will be provided with credit cards (free of charge) enabling them to shop at students’ stands. The exhibitors will be from Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldavia, UNIAM Kosovo, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro.

Youth Employment Project in BiH, along with Posao.ba will organize distribution of open vacancies for placements in the region.

Overview

Humanity in Action is pleased to invite Bosnian university students and
recent graduates to apply for the 2010 summer fellowship programs in
Amsterdam, Berlin and Copenhagen.

The HIA Programs in Europe will run simultaneously from June 3 through July
4, 2010.

Intensive and demanding, the HIA summer fellowship programs bring together
international groups of emerging minority rights leaders to explore
different national histories of discrimination and resistance, as well as
examples of issues affecting different minority groups today.

Each program is highly interdisciplinary, and features daily lectures and
discussions with renowned academics, journalists, politicians, and
activists. There is also a significant number of site visits to government
agencies, non-profit and community organizations, museums, and memorials.

Youth Employment Project committed to capacity development of Republic of Srpska Employment Bureau

Youth Employment Project and Republic of Srpska Employment Bureau continue cooperating under the capacity development of the RS Employment Bureau.

In order to develop the performance of the Employment Bureau staff, in regards to the unemployed, future YEP activities will focus on staff training in employment assessment and support to the unemployed in their active job search.

The final outcome of the training course is to produce a questionnaire which will be used by the counsellors when they assess the employment opportunities, and in that way help the unemployed make their active job search plan.

The future training event will be organised in the region of Banja Luka branch office of the Employment Bureau in the last week of February, covering two key topics: 1. Employment opportunities assessment for the unemployed; 2. Establishment of better cooperation with the employers.

YEP and Federal Employment Institute continue cooperation in 2010

At a meeting February 5, 2010 held between YEP managment and HR staff within Federal Employment Instititue, it was agreed that apart from ongoing activities, the Federal Employment Institute and YEP will start developing staff training plan for the Federal Employment Institute, which will be delivered by YEP. The type, number and timing of the training courses will be agreed later on. These activities are a follow up of successful cooperation between YEP and Federal Employment Institute, that has officially started in late 2008.

„How to find a job? “ January 26 - 27 in Rogatica and Višegrad

The Employment Bureau of RS and Spektar Agency will organise a workshop “How to find a job? “for the unemployed persons on Tuesday and Wednesday 26 – 27 January 2010 in the auditorium of Rogatica municipality and employment bureau of Višegrad . This workshop is a follow-up of joint activities between RSEB and Agency Spektar within the Youth Employment Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is supported by the Swiss Development Agency and Austrian Development Cooperation.
